Trying to understand the system behind AI
I started with a sustainability question: what does using AI actually consume?
That led me to adoption. If AI needs this much infrastructure, are people and businesses using it deeply enough to justify what is being built?
Then I came back to the physical side I knew better — data centres, power, grids and construction.
The more I looked, the less these felt like separate subjects. They are different parts of the same system.
